Paradise Found
Paradise City
South Korea, 2025–2026
Paradise Found marks Joel Mesler’s first solo exhibition in Korea, a milestone moment for the artist and a significant addition to Paradise City’s cultural program. Conceived as an immersive journey, the exhibition unfolds across three symbolic realms—Earth, Water, and Sky—each representing a different dimension of human experience and imagination. Within these realms, Mesler uses his signature language of bold color, playful forms, and childlike motifs to explore themes of emotion, creativity, and the universal search for belonging and joy.
At the heart of Paradise Found lies the artist’s realization that paradise is not an external destination but rather a state of being—something cultivated within. Over the course of his career, Mesler has turned to painting as both a form of healing and a tool for reflection, channeling memory, vulnerability, and humor into vibrant compositions. This exhibition extends that process outward, inviting viewers to step into environments that blur the line between fantasy and reality, surface delight and deeper introspection. Through this journey, Mesler offers visitors an opportunity not only to witness his own pursuit of paradise but to discover resonances with their own inner landscapes.
